Nearly 100 Years of Making Grease
A. E. Huberd founded his shoe grease company in McMinnville Oregon in 1921. In his workshop, A. E. concocted a beeswax and pine-tar formula that he introduced to logging camps and sold to lumberjacks. The lumbermen throughout the region helped Mr. Huberd improve his formula, build his customer base, and establish a thriving manufacturing company. Huberd’s products are made in the same way today.
Huberd’s How To:
1. Before use – thoroughly clean your boots, remove all dirt, and make sure that both the boots and grease are warmed to room temperature.
2. Rub grease into the leather with hands or soft cloth. Carefully grease where soles join uppers and all stitching. Allow grease to penetrate the leather then apply another coat.
3. After shoes have once been treated apply as needed to maintain waterproofing and conditioning of leather.
